Apocalypse: A first-class discovery

The recently launched Apocalypse , by Trondheim Barokk and Sigiswald Kuijken, features two true hidden gems, the rarely performed cantatas “Befielh dem Engel, dass er komm” by German-Danish composer Buxtehude and “Quis hostis in coelis” by German-Swedish composer Christian Geist. “A first-class discovery”, according to French critic Sophie Roughol of Diapason magazine. The Apocalypse CD, featuring Orkester Nord, vocal ensemble Vox Nidrosiensis under the direction of legendary baroque violin player Sigiswald Kuijken, is highlighted in one of the major French radio shows on classical music, “Sacrées Musiques”! Apocalypse: From the Sarrebourg festival

The recently launched CD Apocalypse was recorded as part of Trondheim Barokk’s residency at the Sarrebourg festival in France. Partly a live recording, it gives a vivid impression of the unique and intense artistic collaboration between Trondheim Barokk, Vox Nidrosiensis and Sigiswald Kuijken. The Trondheim Barokk has entered into a long-term collaboration with the Sarrebourg festival, led by energetic and dedicated director Alain Pacquier, as well as with conductor and baroque violinist Sigiswald Kuijken.
