The Travel to the North

With the discovery of the northernmost seas in the Renaissance period, sea travels from South-Europe to the far north areas developed. Several travellers brought instruments on the ships. From the rich heritage of Scandinavian music, there is a clear influence of the music from the south, notably from Italy, on music played in Scandinavia. The programme explores these links between South and the North in early European culture. With the beautiful voice of Norwegian soprano Ingeborg Dalheim.
